Hilgay Challenge Updates
Week Six - Gold
We have learnt a new hymn for our Easter Service.
Each family represented in the school is being invited to make an Easter Garden for display in the church porch.
We are taking part in various ways in our Easter Service at Al Saints Church, Hilgay.
Week Five - Gold
Week Four - Silver
25 children gave up their lunch hour to come into class to make flowers. The flowers were sent to All Saints Church and Hilgay Methodist Church, to be given to the ladies of both congregations.
We have heard from each church to say they remembered the school and children in their prayers on Mothering Sunday.
Week Three - Silver
On Friday 9th March, we had an ‘environmental’ day. Recently we had an “energy busters” week, during which we consumed 25.5 less electricity than our previous consumption, so we used Friday 9th March to put into practice the good habits we learnt during that week. A group of children also carried out a litter pick of the school grounds. During our litter pick we found three newts under a brick.

Week Two - Gold
Remember your School Neighbours: Our aim was to get to know some of the children at our new “partner school” Ten Mile Bank Primary. On World Book Day KS1 children spent the day together working on a “Where’s Wally” theme at Ten Mile Bank. The KS2 children from Ten Mile Bank came to Hilgay and worked with Hilgay children on the theme of “Beowulf”.
On Friday 2nd our activity planners for the week, were two boys from YR and Yr 3 who helped organise games that children of all ages could join in at morning play.
Week One - Gold
Creative Club have made a Lent calendar in an traditional French style for each class.
We have a “Lent is………” display near the entrance to our school.
Twenty eight children have volunteered to help plan our activities during a particular week
