William de Yaxley Challenge Updates

Week 6 - Gold

For our link school in Rwanda we raised £228 through an Easter egg raffle.

Whole school went to St. Peter’s when Year 5 led the worship through a drama presentation.

 

 

Week 5 - Gold

Sportrelief week:  cake bake (£88), sale of toys/books (£591), two staff members did 24 hour indoor cycle ride (£530),

non-uniform day (£191)

 

Week 4 - Gold

Year 3         made Mothering Sunday cards which were given out in St. Peter’s Church

Year 4         reading/writing about famous mothers

Year 5         letters to parents and carers that were given out in church

Year 6         thank you letters to all carers (male/female), which were also given out in church

 

The whole school also concentrated on stories about famous mothers

 

 

Week Three - Gold

Each year group have been working on improving different areas of the school. Each class is also planting large pots for the courtyard. On Wednesday the whole school were not allowed to use the photocopier all day! Y4 had a day without electricity. The Nurture Group children cleaned out their pets and improved their pet area.

Week Two - Silver

Whole school took part in daily sessions of older children reading with younger children . Y3 created the palm branches in connection with learning about Palm Sunday

 

Week One - Gold

The whole school took part in learning what Lent means and how it started.

Y3 learnt about Shrove Tuesday. Y4 about Ash Wednesday. Y5/6 about the temptation of Jesus. This resulted in the display in our entrance foyer (see purple fish photo). Y6 also produced a large Lent calendar for their classroom
