Barrington Challenge Updates

Week Six - Silver

We have now completed all our lent challenges. This week we learnt to greet each other in different languages. This involved the whole school. These are some of the languages that were spoken - French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swahili, Vietnamese,  and Urdu. The children were very interested in this and were keen to greet each other in different languages

Week Five - Bronze

For week five of the lent challenge we decided to learn a new hymn for the Easter service. The hymn we choose was 'All Glory Laud and Honour' all the school was involved with this.  Class one and two  learnt the chorus while key stage two sang the whole hymn. We will be singing this in church during our end of term service.

Week Four - Gold

For week four of the Lent challenge all the children wrote letters home to their parents with special reference to mothers. This was a well received challenge with all children very involved. The youngest children made little books 'I love you because... this raised lots of ideas from hugs to cooking and washing! The older children wrote some very thoughtful letters.

Week Three - Silver

For week three of the challenge we decided to plant up containers around the school where others can appreciate them. This week we involved the  after school club. The children enjoyed planting the containers and are all very keen to make sure they flourish.

Week Two - Silver

Week two of the lent challenge saw our school furthering relationships between the older and younger children in the school. The year five and six children read stories to the reception and year one children, it was also world book day, hence the children were all dressed as book characters.
